We are looking to bring on board a Prevention Services Coordinator, who is a part of the Tobacco and Substance Use Prevention and Control Program at the Maine Center for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC). The Prevention Services Coordinator is responsible for the oversight of several prevention services contracts including substance use prevention and our prevention workforce development services contract focused on training, technical assistance and conference & event planning logistics.. This position is the primary contact for the Maine Prevention Network contracted providers. The position is responsible for ensuring contract compliance of deliverables and reporting requirements as well as invoice approval/denial. The position works closely with the Substance Use Prevention Program Manager on the approvals of content area workplans and spending of funds.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversee substance use prevention contracts, evaluation contract for prevention services and the training contract for prevention workforce development. Ensures contracted providers meet the required deliverables and reporting requirements.

  • Reviews monthly narratives & data reporting for all substance use prevention partners and provides a high-level debrief document to the Substance Use Prevention Manager.

  • Assists Maine CDC Program Managers with the review and approval/denial of contracted providers’ workplans and utilization of funds.

  • Assists Program Managers with invoice review and approval/denial.

  • Coordinates, facilitates and attends regular meetings, conferences, training and tabling events with contracted community providers to provide technical assistance and to ensure or support contract compliance.

  • Supports planning for and attendance at annual site visits for each MPN district community partner.

  • Collaborates with MPN Manager and Program Managers to create templates, guidance documents and resources as needed for the MPN community partners.

  • Other tasks, such as supporting community events, conference planning and newsletter development, as assigned.

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Social Work or a closely related field.

  • A minimum of one (1) year experience with primary prevention work, preferably substance use prevention OR a minimum of one (1) year experience overseeing or providing services (prevention, mental health, substance use etc.) with required expectations (contracts, MaineCare rule etc.).

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with groups from diverse backgrounds.

  • Strong organizational skills and the flexibility and ability to manage time and multiple tasks independently.

  • Proficiency with all current Microsoft Office programs.

  • Experience with Smartsheet is a plus.
