We are looking to bring on board an Associate Program Manager to provide support in the facilitation, monitoring, management, operational support, and quality assurance for MCD’s programs in mental health (MH) and substance use disorder (SUD). The individual will help manage and run the Rural Behavioral Health Workforce Center and Technology-enabled Collaborative Learning training programs. In addition, the Associate Program Manager will contribute to the US Programs division’s new business development and organizational reform efforts.

The successful candidate will bring solid experience in mental health and SUD program coordination, and will be familiar with the US Northeast geography and associated rural health infrastructure and concerns. Lived experience is a plus.

Job duties:

The Associate Program Manager will:

  • Assist Program Managers in program completion to include: project deliverables, goals and objectives met according to timeline and budget.
  • Assist with development and oversight of budget for each project ensuring the program remains in budget and work to address any discrepancies.
  • Oversight and accountability for day to day activities related to the program.
  • Facilitate meetings, training programs, and workshops associated with both programs.
  • Working as a mentor and team member, provide guidance to Project Coordinators when needed.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to coalition members, clients, and staff/members.
  • Assist with RBHWC and TCLP program adjustments, based on data, needs assessment and best practice.
  • Oversee contracts with partners and/or vendors.
  • Relationship building/Networking.
  • Team building within and outside of MCD.
  • Assist the Program Managers to seek out new contract/partnership and grant opportunities to improve program reach and impact.
  • Help ensure high quality of customer service, project deliverables and outcomes.
  • Lead the development and drafting of quarterly, biannual, and other reporting deliverables.
  • In collaboration with team members and partners identify gaps in behavioral health resources and trainings within the scope of both programs.
  • Develop timelines and assist with coordination duties for Recovery Jobs for Beginners workshops.
  • Work with Communications to generate marketing materials and communication graphics. 
  • Under the direction of the Program Managers as required, research and deliver evidence-based behavioral health educational material.
  • Provide oversight and support as needed for Recovery Jobs for Beginners and ECHO® training programs.
  • Provide oversight on tracking and reporting outcome measures for both programs.
  • Oversee and help to continue to develop the rbhwc.org resource platform
  • Attend related coalition meetings online and in-person and network within behavioral health spaces in Maine.

Job requirements

Knowledge, Qualifications and Skills

  • 5+ years of professional experience in program management with similar scope is required, of which 3+ years should be at a manager level.
  • Ability to travel to in-person events 3-4 times per year in the Northeast region of the United States.
  • Experience coordinating programs and reporting timelines with overlapping demands.
  • Experience in working with a broad spectrum of partners, donors, providers, etc. is required.
  • Experience in supporting, mentoring, supervising and evaluating team members is a plus.
  • Prior experience with mental health and/or substance use programs is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Program monitoring and evaluation experience is a plus.
  • Portuguese, French or Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
  • Lived experience is a plus.
