The Adult Immunization Coordinator position is within Maine CDC’s Maine Immunization Program. This role will focus on developing and implementing Maine’s Adult Immunization Program. The coordinator will ensure that enrolled providers meet program standards for eligibility screening, storage and handling, staff training, partnerships and outreach and education activities.
Essential Job Functions:
Oversees Activities of the Adult Immunization Program
Maintain and expand the Adult Immunization Program including:
a. Enrolling providers with adult patient populations in the Adult Immunization Program.
Develop outreach materials (e.g. flyers, posters, brochures) to promote adult vaccination among providers and patients.
Conduct assessments of the adult program using the Adult Immunization Program Framework.
Collaborate with the Adult Health Educator to prioritize counties with low or zero enrollment and ensure equitable vaccine distribution.
Collaborate with providers and other partners to increase adult vaccine uptake.
b. Conduct face-to-face site Visits in accordance with the Immunization Program Operations Manual (IPOM) including:
Assess provider operations, including vaccine storage, handling, and recordkeeping.
Support providers with technical assistance and resources to maintain program compliance.
c. Support Adult Immunization Manager with program operations
Assist with developing or revising policies and procedures for the adult immunization program.
Assist with legislative activities such as monitoring and responding to requests for information and data.
Assist with program planning such as participating in strategic planning, writing grant objectives, identifying key performance indicators.
Phone Coverage:
a. Field education and customer service calls from the general public and Providers regarding adult vaccines and immunizations.
b. Provide accurate and timely information to address vaccine related inquiries.
Healthcare Provider Education and Training
a. Develop curriculum, provide training and education and provide technical assistance to Providers to ensure that storage, handling, and documentation of vaccines are in accordance with Federal CDC and Maine Immunization Program requirements.
b. Ensure Providers are aware of the dynamic ACIP and MIP recommendations and requirements for storage, handling, and accountability of federally purchased vaccines.
c. Lead provider engagement efforts through webinar, health fairs, college orientations, and community events.
d. Assist with other related duties as assigned - special projects such as developing posters or presentations and participating in project planning.
e. Increase provider enrollment and engagement with the adult immunization program through targeted outreach and educational activities.
Reporting
a. Document site visit questionnaire data into provider’s file or similar system within ten (10) days of all visits.
b. Documenting quality assurance data into provider’s file or similar system.
c. Assist with the preparation of the Cooperative Agreement reports and other documentation.
d. Track performance metrics to evaluate the program’s progress in increasing vaccine confidence and uptake.
